What is the An-Penta-Plus, exactly?
It's an analog (PWM) controller for non-addressable "dumb" LED strips — single white, tunable white, RGB, RGBW and RGBCCT. Rather than addressing individual pixels, it dims whole channels by switching their power on and off very fast. That's what makes it so good at bright, high-CRI white light, the kind addressable strips struggle to match.
Analog vs addressable — which do I want?
If you want
colourful effects and per-pixel animation, that's addressable (and the
Dig-Next line). If you want
excellent white light — bright, true-colour, dimmable, optionally tunable warm-to-cool — that's analog, and that's the An-Penta. Many homes use both.
What strips work with it?
Any
constant-voltage analog strip at 12–48V: single-colour white, dual-white (WW+CW) for tunable white, RGB, RGBW, or RGBCCT. High-CRI and COB white strips are a perfect match. What CRI can it achieve?
CRI comes from the strip, not the controller — but the Plus is built to drive the high-power analog and COB white strips where CRI 95+ is common, at full brightness. That's the analog advantage: far better white output and colour rendering than addressable white can manage.
Why is the An-Penta-Plus flicker-free on camera?
It dims at
~20 kHz by default — thousands of cycles per camera frame — so there's nothing for a sensor to catch. Budget controllers run a few hundred hertz, which a camera turns into dark

I still see banding on my camera — why?
That's almost always a very high shutter speed on the camera, not the controller. At ordinary shutter speeds (say 1/50–1/250) ~20 kHz is invisible. If you're shooting at 1/4000, drop the shutter. The board is already running far faster than the light frequencies that cause banding.
How high can the PWM frequency go?
~20 kHz is the sensible flicker-free default, and the real MOSFET gate drivers give it plenty of headroom beyond that — so there's no shortage of margin for even the fussiest camera sensor. In practice, ~20 kHz is already far higher than anything that bands on camera.
Does dimming stay smooth at the low end?
Yes — the An-Penta dims with very fine resolution at ~20 kHz, so the bottom of the range glides instead of stepping or buzzing. That matters both for relaxed evening light and for clean fades on camera.
What's the voltage and power limit?
12–48V DC in from one supply, up to 10A per channel and 30A total across the five analog channels. Match the supply voltage to your strips and leave ~20% headroom on current.
What exactly do the fuses protect — and how do I replace one?
Every positive output has its own
replaceable fuse. A short, an overload or a wiring mistake blows that one fuse and isolates the fault — saving your wiring, your strip, your supply and the board, and avoiding a fire. The other channels carry on; you swap a 10-cent fuse and move on. The

Is it safe to run 24/7?
Yes — that's the whole point of the per-output fusing, the ESD-protected USB-C, the custom DC-DC supply and the finned-aluminium chassis. It's built to be installed and forgotten.
Can I mix 12V and 24V strips on one board?
No — the whole board runs from one input voltage, so every analog strip shares it. Use strips of the same voltage and a matching supply. The one exception is the digital output, which can run at a different voltage via the buck-converter option.
What's power injection for?
For very high-power white runs, the Plus has extra power-injection terminals so the heavy current is shared rather than forced through a single path. Handy when you're pushing a long, dense, high-output white strip.

Does it need the cloud or an app?
No. It runs local-only: ESPHome over its local API, or WLED over your network. No account, no cloud, no lock-in — you buy it, you own it.
Wi-Fi or Ethernet on the An-Penta-Plus?
Both. The Plus has 10/100 Ethernet on board for rock-solid wired control, plus 2.4GHz Wi-Fi with an external antenna. Wire the lights you never want dropping off the network.
